Luxury chalets in the heart of Megève

“Located in the heart of the mythical resort of Megève at an altitude of 2,000 meters, facing Mont-Blanc, Les Fermes de Marie is a Set of nine cottages connected to each other. They were built with materials from nearby farms, and gleaned by the Sibuet family in the 1980s. Precursor of the eco-responsible trend, a precursor also in the field of mountain spas, Les Ferme de Marie is a magical place named after the first name of the daughter of the founding couple. This timeless hamlet has shaken up the codes of the hotel industry, and its recipe has since been copied many times, never equalled.

The main reason for the success of Les Fermes de Marie over the past 30 years is thatit feels like home. The owners have succeeded in infusing the whole with a boarding house atmosphere, far from the staid luxury hotels. So the atmosphere is relaxed and warm, with attentive and friendly service.

70 rooms in total are divided between the 9 chalets. They are characterized by their very cozy side: soft beds and pillows, wooden and stone materials that provide warmth, sofas covered with plaids and fur cushions... Everything is imbued with the charm of alpine refuges.

The furniture and decor were relentlessly sourced by the owner to create a Mountain style most successful. The area of the rooms and suites is between 16 and 90 m². Some rooms have balconies.

The wonderful Pure Altitude Spa

The Sibuet family invented a new generation of spa by opening the Pure Altitude Spa, long before this trend hit all mountain hotels. This wonderful space includes 1000 m² entirely dedicated to well-being with a magnificent indoor pool and a swimming lane, an outdoor sauna and jacuzzi, Japanese baths, and no less than 13 treatment rooms.

Athletes can also warm up in a Technogym equipped fitness room, while a tea room and a relaxation area await those who like to lounge.

Pure Altitude is a cosmetic range that offers 100% natural products with rare active ingredients from more than 200 mountain plants and minerals, with antioxidant and remineralizing properties. Spa treatments all use this private label.

The treatment menu is very complete, with signature mountain-inspired massages as well as the use of Asian techniques. Among the massages, we note in particular the candle ritual, which is a full body massage with notes of wild narcissus, broom and aromatic herbs. Ultra-restorative, this treatment envelops the body in soft warmth and deeply nourishes the skin.

Among the essential treatments, we note a “Snow Crystals” scrub, formulated around the benefits of crystals and minerals. This Kaolin and Malachite scrub blends with softening hazelnut oil to create a soft and comfortable texture.

Among the signature treatments, we find the “white as snow” treatment: a “Snow Crystal” scrub followed by a “Like the Snow” cream wrap, with anti-aging edelweiss and softening Arctic berries.

Wellness retreats and fitness programs

Fitness programs can last one or several days, combining treatments and massages with sports coaching sessions. They can be booked in conjunction with healthy cuisine.

Les Fermes de Marie also organize retreats lasting a few days entirely dedicated to well-being, in partnership with the Tigre Yoga Club whose founder Elodie Garamond we interviewed here.

The usual format is held over 4 days, with an alternation of Vinyasa yoga classes, mindful walks, and meditation sessions. There is also dedicated time for speaking circles. Of course, the food is adapted accordingly with a healthy and detox menu. The days end at the spa where massages and baths await the participants. These retreats are often full, so you should remember to book well in advance.

Several restaurants to vary the pleasures

The various restaurants at Les Fermes de Marie invite you to live different culinary experiences, from traditional Savoyard specialties such as raclette, to gourmet dishes such as Coquille Saint-Jacques roasted on a fine truffle purée.

The Traditional Restaurant is located in the heart of the main chalet, and offers a cuisine of refined dishes, while the Alpine Restaurant serves regional cuisine with an emphasis onIn honor of Savoyard folklore in a warm atmosphere.”
