Les Fermes de Marie (Megève), a family story

Jocelyne and Jean-Louis Sibuet, originally from the region, started the Les Fermes project in the 1980s. Marie is the name of their daughter, who was just born at the time, and who took over the management of the family group with her brother Nicolas in recent years. In the heart of Megève, a typical Savoyard village made very luxurious by the efforts of the Rothschild family, the chalets des Fermes are built with authentic alpine wood, recovered by Jean-Louis throughout the region. After opening, the place, which has an atmosphere that is as comforting as it is luxuriant, soon became an institution. Since then, the Sibuet family, at the head of Maisons&Hôtels Sibuet, has opened two other hotels in Megève (Le Mont Blanc and the Lodge), as well as establishments in Saint-Tropez, Saint-Barthélémy and Menerbes in the Luberon... At Les Fermes, it is all the soul of this family saga that shines through, down to the smallest detail: the passion for hospitality, the love of art. to live the French way, the simplicity of good times and a certain gift for aesthetics...

Les Fermes de Marie (Megève): an enveloping decor carefully assembled

In the Chalets des Fermes, none of the 67 rooms are really the same, but all are real nests of comfort. Jocelyne Sibuet, who took care of the decoration of each room herself, insisted on this individuality that makes the place so charming. Each room is a mixture of antique pieces and beautiful furniture, comforting textiles and traditional patterns, assembled with taste. Savoyard authenticity is highlighted here: old wood has been preserved on the ceiling, glossy terracotta tiles on the floor... An Alpine style enhanced by a very cocooning touch of luxury (some rooms have a private sauna, a beautiful fireplace, etc.). Entire chalets are also available for rent around Les Fermes: you can enjoy your independence while taking advantage of all the hotel's high-end services.

Les Fermes de Marie (Megève): pure comfort

The Sibuets are also precursors in the field of hotel well-being: Les Fermes were one of the first hotels, in the 1980s, to integrate a home spa into their service offer. Since then, the practice has become widespread in upscale hotels. The Spa des Fermes is a haven of peace, surrounded by woods, where you can be pampered after a day in the mountains: massage, Japanese baths, swimming lane or jacuzzi... The SPA uses Pure Altitude products, the brand created by the Sibuets, whose products are inspired by the natural benefits of the mountains (and in particular the anti-aging properties of the edelweiss flower). Comfort at Les Fermes also (and especially) comes from the plate! In the hotel's traditional restaurant, a large subdued dining room allows you to enjoy a generous menu inspired by the region (truffle shells, Beaufort ravioli, poultry cooked whole in butter on the skin, mountain croques...). And for the cheese (s) and the dessert (s), head for a decadent buffet.

Les Fermes de Marie (Megève): what's new in 2024

This year, the establishment also inaugurated its new cheese restaurant Le Carnotzet, located in the hotel's cellars. It serves delicious fondues and raclette to share in an adorable setting, with red and white checkered tablecloths and curtains and hanging cowhide bells. Higher up in the resort, in early 2024, the group also invested in an altitude restaurant, the Relais des Fermes, decorated with irresistible vintage posters of Megève and equipped with a large sun terrace. Here too, delicacies are waiting for you: juicy meats cooked on a spit, homemade terrine and pâté en croute, marbled snails and macaroni gratin with porcini mushrooms and Beaufort. The tour, in a warm atmosphere, ideal for recharging your batteries after a morning of skiing (or relaxing: the restaurant is accessible to pedestrians by cable car from the center of Megève). The Sibuet trip does not end there: in the village of Megève, you can buy restaurant products at the Fermes grocery store, buy Pure Altitude products in the shop a stone's throw away, and enjoy an exceptional tea time at Mont Blanc, another family hotel (****) at the foot of the cable cars.
